It's quite sad when I'm the only sane one left. Bastien's clearly lost his mind, and it's not from studying (or lack of studying); he seems rather indecisive, which he usually isn't, almost like he has no ideas or goals for himself except to get out of Hogwarts and move back to France. Artagan's still paranoid, although I think it isn't as bad as it used to be. I wonder if Liz would be able to help me with him, but I'm not sure what he'd think about me asking her. Rich is still in Quidditch mode, even though we've already played our last match and he's got offers being owled to him almost everyday. And Balthazar... becoming engaged must have done something to him too.
Then of course, there is Katherine who hates me, then likes me, then hates me again. All these mood swings can't be healthy. And Foster is being idealistic, Spencer still doesn't appear to have grown up, and Stone -is he genuinely happy or was he affected by the same happiness spell? It's just really really disappointing. |

Thank the gods for Spring Break. I don't know what forces were at play setting Katherine and I in the same group again, because she really doesn't know when to shut up. For Merlin's sake, she isn't a muggle and she isn't a physician, and her loud blabbering was upsetting the patients not to mention the fact that she just needed to argue Freedom of Speech with the nurses? Balls, and she thinks (and therefore, the entire school knows what she thinks) that I'm insensitive? That is just shit.
At least, at home, I will be able to relax somewhat.

Miss Davies Dana Miss Davies
Dana is doing fine. Currently, she is unconscious as Madam Pomfrey had to administer a sleeping draft to be able to work on her leg. I don't know if it would be better for me to stay with her or return to the room to help the team, as I imagine Miss Weasley will scold me for doing either. Merlin, what a bitch.

For fucking sake! QUICKSAND?! And of course, Harrison had to fall in it. Merlin, what a mess! At least it got Weasley out of the way for a short time...

Miss Weasley,
Shortly after you left with Harrison (are you all right, Harrison?), the team encountered a sphinx who will not let us pass until we solve her riddle correctly. None of us have tried -as I can imagine giving her the wrong answer may be detrimental to the team's health- but here is the riddle: You're a Ravenclaw, it should be easy for you.
You're traveling to some village. At some point there is a fork in the road. You could go two ways but only one of them leads to the village. Lucky for you there are two men standing next to the fork. But unfortunately one of them always lies and one always speaks the truth and you do not know who is who. Since the men do not really like to help you, you are allowed to ask one of them only one question. Which question should you ask?
Harrison, do you have any thoughts on it? Henry has already tried to find another way around the sphinx, but there is none and if history is correct, we'll need to solve her riddle before we can progress.
I am quite certain I know the answer but go ahead and roll your eyes and tell me it. I can't deprive you of that pleasure. We all have our answers and Davies and I have reached the same conclusion but if you'd like to give us your input, please do. |

What is with these people? Now, Phil I can understand... but Ophelia? For fucking Merlin's sake, she lost us another 50 points! It must be Bradfield's influence warping her mind. Fuck! I didn't want to use my father's connections so early, but I did... so at least it won't look suspicious if Slytherin drops to zero one day and bounds back with 500 the next.
Slughorn has been pestering me- well, subtly hinting- about the Award of Distinction. Frankly, I believe Artagan and Wynne are better potioneers than our Head of House, but he's had more years of service. You can imagine the look of delight he had when I mentioned my father submitted his name for nomination. Fifty points for Slytherin there.
Westmore was harder to charm. Even with the rare text I finally had my father procure, I still had to write an essay about the Ancient Rune and she only gave me ten points for it. Not that I need the extra credit. Fuck! I have better things to do than write essays.
I hope Ophelia will at least have the sense to start docking more points from the other houses. She at least owes us that.

The Muggle Parliament visit was boring interesting, the student parliament more so. I'm not sure what was more pathetic amusing: the topic of taxes or the victory dance done by Eton, our competitors.

To the Slytherin team,
I've reserved the Quidditch pitch every night from six to nine, and I expect all of you -including those on our reserve- to practice. Our next match against the Ravenclaws is one week away, coinciding with the visit of professional Quidditch team scouts (for those of you who care are interested) and we will show them our team is the best Hogwarts has to offer even if I doubt any of us will actually go into professional Quidditch once we leave. |
